The Pre-School classes reinforce the social and educational skills already achieved. Activities are designed to develop a wide range of physical and mental skills. Reading, writing, listening and speaking are developed along with constructional, artistic and athletic skills. Our curriculum has been developed and adapted closely following and building upon the Government’s Curriculum requirements for Early Years Education.

  • Children are prepared for “reading readiness” through daily practice
  • Progress is monitored at Parents’ Evenings and an end of year report
  • Afternoon Sessions: complement the work done in the mornings
  • Activities include art, cooking, music, PE and nature walks
  • The number of sessions per week and the days attended are flexible – most parents opt for a progressive number of sessions during the year – from 2-10 sessions
  • An optional ballet class is held each Monday
  • Milk and biscuits are provided each morning
  • Children can be left in the Pre-School from 8.30am. A supervised Creche is available until 5.30pm
  • Most children attending the Nursery & Pre-School continue into the Infant Department – there is, however, no obligation to do so
