A French Breakfast and other adventures!

We have been having such a lovely time together this week continuing our bear themed stories with a book called “Can’t you sleep Little Bear?” by Martin Waddell. All the Reception children have done some amazing writing using thought bubbles to record any feelings of the tiny bear who couldn’t sleep! We have spent a long time thinking about times when we couldn’t sleep and understanding why. We have also thought about different methods of getting to sleep!

We have been designing some incredible bedrooms to help our bear have a restful night and modelling our ideas using lego and construction toys. What a lucky bear!

In Forest School the children have also been making nests for a selection of our spring birds. Great fun was had by us all and the birds have been carefully catered for with food and water whilst their eggs are being incubated!

The French breakfast was a source of great excitement and definitely a highlight of the week! We used our best French to ask for certain breakfast items such as pain au chocolat, croissants, confiture, beurre, baguette, chocolat chaud and even some brie too! We remembered our manners with “merci” and still had room for our lunch later! We played some French games outside and even had a go with the accordion!
