We have had a great week learning all about the story of “Mr Gumpy’s Outing” by John Burningham. We have acted out the story and the children’s favourite part was where all the animals fell out of the boat!
We have looked for the animals from the story around our school grounds and been on a river walk.
On our walk by the river we thought of as many watery adjectives as we could and listened to the sounds of the water and we have done some fantastic writing as a result.
In maths this week we have been using the Mr Gumpy story to perform addition and subtraction problems with the animals getting in and out of the boat. Well done Reception, we are really proud!
