Welcome to Copthill School
A school that instils in our pupils the joy of discovery, problem solving, risk taking and active participation in the arts and sports. Where curiosity is encouraged and learning becomes a positive and relevant experience.
A school life that radiates energy and ignites enthusiasm in all our pupils!
In light of Covid-19 and the restrictions that have been put in place to minimise risk to us all, we have made a variety of adjustments to our admissions process at this time.
We can confirm that we are still accepting registrations for new pupils and that we are available to contact via email and telephone. Please contact Mrs Elli Westwood if you have any questions at all on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01780 757506
Visits / Tours
Due to the current restrictions in place, we are only able to offer restricted tours of the school site at present. However, we would be delighted to arrange a phone call or video call with our Principal, Mr Jonathan Teesdale.
We are still accepting registrations for new pupils from Nursery through to Year 6. Please download and complete our registration form and email over to email@example.com We will be in touch thereafter to register your child’s place and to take you through the next steps.
Taster Days and Assessments
We would normally invite prospective pupils to the school for a taster day in which they would complete some informal assessments in Maths and English. Along with completion of these assessments, we will also request school reports from your child’s current school.
Given that we are unable to invite pupils on site we will conduct these assessments online. Should the school re-open during the summer term, we will of course arrange for these to take place. A taster day is a perfect opportunity for your child to meet their new peers and teachers, along with gaining a familiarity with Copthill life.
Offer of a Place
By adjusting our admissions policy as above, we will still be able to accept new registrations and offer school places for a September 2020 entry, despite the current restrictions we have on allowing access to the school site.
For further information or to make an appointment for a tour in the future please contact Mrs Elli Westwood via firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone + 44 (0)1780 757506 [/header]
My time at school has given me the confidence to talk to adults, become an independent person and made me a happy boy.

References & Reports
Copthill School will request references and/or reports from your child’s current school (if applicable) before they join us for their Taster Day. This is to ensure that we can really begin to get to know your child.
Offer of Place
Once we are in a position to offer your child a place we will contact you. This is usually done following the Taster Day. At this point we will request confirmation from you that you definitely wish to take up the place.
Confirmation This is an agreement to the School’s Terms and Conditions and involves the payment of the £250 acceptance fee. A proportion of this is returned at the end of the pupil’s final term, subject to the terms and conditions.
Transition Day – Once your child’s place at Copthill School is confirmed, they are welcome to join their new friends again during the term before they officially become part of the Copthill family.
Some Extra Information to Help busy families:
Before and After School Care
To support families and especially working parents, we offer fully supervised extended hours at the beginning and end of each school day. There’s supervision and a breakfast club daily from 7.45am for all ages. Pupils can attend the after school care club which runs daily from 3.30 – 6.00pm. A very popular tea option is available from 4.30 – 5.00pm.
During half terms and school holidays, we run extra activities and full week courses, as well as an action packed Summer School. The timetable for these additional weeks is published in advance to allow parents to plan ahead. Pre school pupils can attend for approximately 12 additional weeks a year and Year 1-6 pupils have options for approximately 5 additional weeks a year.
During the Summer holidays, Copthill staff along with external professionals, run a wonderfully busy and fun Summer School. This is open to all present and prospective pupils. Activities involve different sports, crafts, musical activities, traditional games and exciting campovers.
