This week we have been reading the story of The Little Red Hen. The children have enjoyed joining in with the repeated refrains of the story and discussing how important it is to be kind to others and help our friends. Afterwards, each child was invited to make their own bread to take home. The children took it in turns to use a spoon to stir the mixture to make some dough. Each child was then given their own piece of dough which they were encouraged to knead into a ball shaped roll. An adult baked the bread in the oven – it smelled delicious!
The children have also enjoyed playing at the themed play tray where they have been able to recall the story and make pretend bread.
