The boys played to their very best ability, giving it their all from the word go, even with the cold weather. We played exciting counter attacking hockey, often breaking through their defence to put their keeper under pressure from which we scored. We transferred the ball to both sides of the pitch with some intelligent passing, often giving Ratcliffe minimal possession for extended periods, and our back four were superb at cancelling out their build-up play, giving Ratcliffe few options within range. At 1-1 for most of the game it would have been a fair result, so it was unfortunate that with seconds to go we conceded a second, albeit well worked, Ratcliffe goal. Well done boys for a fantastic gritty display in tough conditions!
