COVID-19 FRAMEWORK – Updated January 2022
We will begin this spring term as we ended the autumn term, with contingency measures in place to protect our community. However, as we have always done, we want to ensure a Copthill education and childhood continues as smoothly and untroubled as possible for our children.
In accordance with the latest government updates, you will no doubt be aware that the self-isolation advice for people with coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed. It is now possible to end self-isolation after 7 days, following 2 negative LFD tests taken 24 hours apart. The first LFD test should not be taken before the sixth day. Relevant information can be found here – Stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection – GOV.UK
Staff will be wearing masks in corridors and communal areas of the school and we would ask parents and visitors to please wear masks at all times in school.
Thanks to the responsible attitude of the Copthill community we have minimised school disruption over the last 18 months and, now, we ask again that we all continue our efforts for the benefit of all.
VISITOR PROTOCAL – Updated January 2022
Throughout the pandemic, we have developed and maintained a Covid-19 operating framework and associated risk assessments that help guide our approach and ensure that our community’s health, safety and wellbeing remain the priority.
We are delighted to welcome visitors to Copthill but would We would still request they do not to enter the School site in the following circumstances:
1. If they have tested positive or are showing COVID-19 symptoms and are currently waiting for test results.
2. If they have been identified by NHS Test and Trace as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case and are not exempt from the requirement to self-isolate.
3. If they have recently entered the UK from another country and are required to follow the current quarantine guidelines in place.
On arrival to Copthill School, you will be asked to sign in and be provided with a visitors’ identification badge which should be worn throughout your visit and returned when you sign out.
Social distancing measures and the wearing of face coverings are required unless updated public health advice requires this. We do, however, politely ask you to undertake an LFD home test within 24 hours prior to your visit and continue to observe good hand and respiratory hygiene throughout your visit. Should your LFD test prove positive, please re-arrange your visit and follow the national guidelines currently in place.
