COVID-19 FRAMEWORK – Updated September 2021

In accordance with the latest government updates, children are not required to self-isolate if they live in the same household as someone who has tested positive with COVID-19, or are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.  NHS Test and Trace will advise that a PCR test is taken and, if negative, the child can attend school as normal.

If your child develops symptoms related to Covid-19 – a high temperature; a new, continuous cough and/or a loss or change to sense of smell or taste – please do not send them to school.  Please keep them at home and arrange a PCR test.  Further information can be found here – Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms in children

School might be returning to near-normal but we will, of course, remember the importance of good hygiene.  We will be continuing to ask children to wash or sanitise their hands regularly and catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue.

From the moment we return, and increasingly as we move towards the winter months, it is imperative that we stay vigilant to keep all illness out of school. Thanks to the responsible attitude of the Copthill community we have minimised school disruption over the last 18 months and, now, as we head into a certain amount of uncertainty, we ask again that we all renew our efforts for the benefit of all.

Although we will not require adults to wear masks at drop-off and collection or when inside school, please continue to do so if this makes you feel more comfortable.

VISITOR PROTOCAL – Updated September 2021

Throughout the pandemic, we have developed and maintained a Covid-19 operating framework and associated risk assessments that help guide our approach and ensure that our community’s health, safety and wellbeing remain the priority.

In line with the relaxing of national restrictions, we are pleased to have been able to lift many of the previous constraints. We would still request that visitors do not to enter the School site in the following circumstances:

1. If they have tested positive or are showing COVID-19 symptoms and are currently waiting for test results.
2. If they have been identified by NHS Test and Trace as a close contact of a positive
COVID-19 case and are not exempt from the requirement to self-isolate.
3. If they have recently entered the UK from another country and are required to follow the current quarantine guidelines in place.

On arrival to Copthill School, you will be asked to sign in and be provided with a visitors’ identification badge which should be worn throughout your visit and returned when you sign out.
Social distancing measures and the wearing of face coverings are now matters of personal choice, unless updated public health advice requires this. We do, however, politely ask you to undertake an LFD home test within 24 hours prior to your visit and continue to observe good hand and respiratory hygiene throughout your visit. Should your LFD test prove positive, please re-arrange your visit and follow the national guidelines currently in place.
