Hello and good afternoon… today we have been learning Welsh for our celebration of languages day. We have learned how to greet our friends and sing a song in Welsh. We read a story about the Welsh dragon and learned about the Welsh flag. In the afternoon, we weaved a traditional Welsh blanket called a Carthen. These blankets were historically woven on narrow looms in double weave patterns and colours. The children used fabrics and paper to weave their own blanket. On top of the blanket we will place a symbolic daffodil. Hwyl fawr!
