Hoppy Easter!

The Easter holidays are finally here! We have had such a busy term this half term that the holidays feel very well deserved for us all. We worked hard to ensure that our big art collages that we have been doing this half term, were completed and up on display by the end of the week. The Year 2 children have really enjoyed channeling their inner Lowry. We were inspired by his paintings of buildings and matchstick people and how he mixed colours to create the shade that he needed, that we did our own take on a Lowry painting, by creating a huge collage of Copthill from different angles. 2U did a view of the front of the school, where we get dropped off/picked up and 2G did a view of the back of the school from the playground and bark. A project thoroughly enjoyed by all and involved a lot of teamwork and collaboration. They are currently up on display in the Reception area of school so make sure you have a look next term!

We have really enjoyed the children’s presentations that they did for their independent homework this half term. They did a fantastic job at presententing their posters, information leaflets and powerpoints on a local attraction and were able to point out their physical and human features. Well done!

Miss Gardner and Mrs Underwood have put some maths and English activities up onto Seesaw, if you would like to keep yourself busy over the holidays. These are completely optional, there is no pressure to do them, just there if you would like to 🙂 We have made sure that everyone has taken their pencil case home with them so that they are replenished ready for the summer term.

Have a wonderful, relaxing, chocolate filled Easter break, from the Year 2 team 🙂
