Ice Play

This week we have been looking at houses and homes around the world and discussing similarities and differences. The children were very interested in the images of igloos and they loved exploring the play trays filled with ice. We talked about how the ice would begin to melt and used words such as cold, smooth and hard to describe how the ice felt. The children used special chunky tweezers to scoop up the ice, strengthening their hand muscles, and as the ice began to melt they used pipettes to suck up and squirt the water!
