What a race! We always say it’s a tough end to the season and all of the children agreed after they had completed the course.
We arrived at Maidewell on a gorgeously sunny day. It was wonderful to experience a school very different to ours. Where each child was able to choose their own tweed jacket to wear as a blazer to accompany their corduroy trousers and culottes.
The race was long and tough, around the lake, out and back in a field with lots of sheep and a scenic route back to the croquet lawn where the children enjoyed some deserved down time on the big tree swing.
A special mention must go to Sophie Alliston who won the U11 girls race in true style finishing maybe 80-100m ahead of the next girl. Well done!
