The Year 2 and Year 3 classes took their music lesson outside this week. We took the boombox out onto the fort field and listened to a selection of music genres and allowed our bodies to react to them. Each piece provoked different actions. We listened to a creepy piece of music, which the children moved slowly and were sneaking around to, we also listened to a piece of circus music which was rather chaotic and encouraged the children to wobble around like clowns. For a slower, lullaby we had ballet moves and later for a jazz piece of music had swing dancing from some! It was great to see how the children interpret the music that they hear and the impact it has on them.
