Nativity Crafts

As the Pre School children prepare for our outdoor Nativity performance on Thursday 8th December they have been very busy learning all about why we celebrate Christmas. They have been listening to stories and recalling the events through playing with small world figures in the play trays. The children have also been working on their snipping skills by creating a manger for a baby Jesus. Each child was encouraged to use the child sized scissors to make snips around the edges of an oval piece of paper. We talked about our facial features which the children then drew onto a circular piece of paper to make a face for their baby Jesus. After adding the face to the oval body, the baby was placed into the manger. The children have also continued to explore 2D shapes by creating angels with circles and triangles. The children have decorated their angels with silver or gold.
