Seed bombs and vegetable art!

The children have continued to explore all things plants and growing this week. In art we looked closely at vegetables, particularly those that grow underground and then drew observational pictures using wax crayons, oil pastels and a colour wash.

The children have also been exploring poetry in their creative writing sessions and began by listening to ‘Nut Tree’ by Julia Donaldson. We discussed what the poem was about and the children then split into groups to choreograph a mini performance of each stanza. In the next lesson the children revisited the poem and explored descriptive vocabulary.

In Forest School they have been observing the school bees and making wild flower seed bombs. Next week we look forward to an exciting reptile experience from an external provider to enhance our prior learning of animals.
