What a busy week it has been in the music room this week.
From singing to african drumming, from claves to rapping, we even ventured out of the classroom to the Anglo-Saxon village to sing chants about Beowolf and Arthur the Great.
Year 1 have been busy with Mrs Bidwell being introduced to the clave and rhythm.
Year 4 have been learning all about the Anglo-Saxons through chants, learning about Arthur the Great and Beowolf and Grendel. They enjoyed taking instruments out to the Anglo-Saxon village in the school rounds to perform these chants.
Year 5 have been taking on the African Drums and are really enjoying learning new strokes each week and are beginning to put rhythms together and perform them in small groups.
Year 6 took a break from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song practise to link back to curriculum and have been learning about raps. They worked in small groups and came up with a rap all about school. It was great fun – each rap was so different!
A busy old week!
