Today 32 Reception children were magically transformed into spiders! Fortunately for the teachers, they were all very friendly and did not scuttle around too much or make huge webs in the classrooms!
We have had a lovely week using the story of “The Very Busy Spider” by Eric Carle. We have thought about spidery adjectives and recorded them on webs with some craft spiders. We have hunted for spiders in our school grounds, with varying success as it has been so wet, and made little spider sized shelters!
The chalk spider’s webs and hats were a great success and we managed to scare a few parents at home time! We researched spider facts in reference books and asked some interesting questions. Our minibeast fact books were fantastic! Well done Reception!
