Sunshine and Senses!

How the weeks are flying! Before we know it, the Easter Bunny will be on his way and the sunshine will hopefully be a permanent feature in the sky!

This week we have been looking at the differences between things that are living, dead or have never been alive. We were allowed back into the woods because it wasn’t as windy as last week. We went on a treasure hunt in the Forest to find many different things and finished off a lovely forest school session with our yummy hot chocolate at the Fort in the sunshine.

In PE we were getting our tennis skills up to scratch ready for the summer months. We practiced our reactions to make sure we had our eye on the ball at all times. Andy Murray we are coming for you!

In Math’s we have been doing fractions. If you have pizza, maybe get your child to cut you some quarters, but make sure they are equal… I’ve heard how much some of these Year 2’s like pizza!

In Science, we have been completing investigations using our different senses. This included doing a taste testing experiment and feeling some different objects.

Please make sure your child has got waterproof trousers, coat and wellies with them as it is still damp out and about! We would also appreciate it if you checked your child’s belongings to make sure it is theirs as we have had some bits of kit go missing.

Don’t forget to keep track of some of the amazing things you have been up to in lockdown by noting them down in your Copthill Challenge Scheme as then we can sign it off.

Habitats are welcome in at anytime, please remember these need to be in before Easter.

Have a lovely weekend, we look forward to seeing you all on Monday!
