The Elves are watching!!!

Come and join us on the Year 2 Blog this week as we have been up to lots of fabulous things with our elves watching us from the display in the Year 2 corridor!

There has been chalking, there has been Christingle practice, there has been some Christmas art, there has been some chalking which included drawing round each other or having a competition of who’s Christmas drawing was the most amazing! All of them were awesome and we all had great fun!

We have been looking at Christmas in China, we all found this rather interesting as Santa Claus is called ‘Shen Dan Lao Ren’ and the postmen are known to dress up as Santa when they are delivering the letters before Christmas.

In Forest school we had a lovely time in the midst of the cold weather making some beautiful bird feeders which took a lot of concentration making sure we had put plenty of sunflower seeds in the sides of the apple so the birds wouldn’t go hungry in this cold weather. The children really enjoyed this and some of them decided they wanted to hang their bird feeders in the forest at Copthill so we can have a walk to the forest every now and then to check the birds are eating the seeds. Let’s hope the birds near Copthill like children as they definitely won’t be getting peace whilst they eat their sunflower seeds!

Please can I remind you all that its not just the mornings and evenings that are getting cold now, its also throughout the day. It’s super chilly now so we will be needing lots of layers in school to use, including hats and gloves to keep those fingers and toes warm!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend, stay safe.
