Year 4 has been learning and researching the life of Harold Godwinson – the last Saxon King. They discovered that there were other claimants to the throne and were furious to see if Harold Godwinson was the best choice for the throne. We formed a Witan Council and teams of supporters for Harold Godwinson, Harald Hardrada, Willam – Duke of Normandy and Edgar Ætheling. We discussed kingly qualities to research and prepared a speech (and a dance) to present to the Witan Council. Who did they choose?
