The sun has got his hat on!

A few messages to start this week’s blog, there will be no swimming on the last day of term – Friday 1st April. You will see a sponsorship form in your child’s book bag, we are taking part in a sponsored silence to help raise money to support Ukraine. We have been practising at school and have been talking about why we are doing it. The children are keen to do well to help raise money and show their support. Year 2 are going to try and smash 30 minutes silence – please do get as many sponsorships as you can. The more support, the better 🙂

It has been a beautiful week at school this week, the sun has effected all of our moods and also our lessons. It was a big contrast for our forest school lessons where we got soaked last week, it made a pleasant change to be out in the sun this week. We got outside to continue with our Lowry project in art, and it helped that it was nice and warm, it made our paint dry super quickly! We can’t wait for you to see it, the children have thoroughly enjoyed it.

This week in maths we have been looking at fractions and using shapes to show half and quarters. Next week we will be looking at fractions of a number. In English we rounded off our topic of fantasy stories with an independent writing task. The children were given an image and planned a story onto a story mountain. They then used their plan to develop their ideas into a story. We were super proud of their efforts and the stories that they created. Well done.
