What an amazing day full of netball!
After a long journey down to the seafront at Southend-on-Sea, we settled in for the night for a good sleep before a busy day ahead.
We met nice and early and gave ourselves time for a proper warm up and mini session before the tournament started. The girls played a round robin format with six 14minute games.
We met Hutton Manner first and had a wonderful 15-0 win, next New Hall and we comfortably won 11-1. We then had a long lunch break before embarking on our second set of matches.
We came up against Littlegarth B team before then playing their A team. we had a goal fest against the B team and won 21-0. The A team would end up being our “Final”. They were the best team we met and they had a passionate crowd of supporters! We were winning 5-1 at half time and they came back with real drive in tbe second half to draw 9-9. It was a great score line that represented an end to end competitve game of netball.
We went on to win the remainder of our matches; Ursuline 6-1 and Alleyn Court 10-1
After 84minutes of netball it came down to goal difference. Copthill ended on 61 with Littlegarth just pipping us to the gold with 65.
I could not have been a prouder coach, all the practice the girls had put in showed on the courts. Unfortunately their is no U10 Nationals to progress on to at this stage but what a wonderful achievement to be silver medalist at the Regional Finals. Our best result to date in a Netball Regional Tournament.
