The U11 football team played their first football match of the year at Copthill v Ayscoughfee.
The boys were very excited and very much looking forward to the match as they do not hardly play much football and this particular group of boys are pretty passionate about it!
It was a glorious afternoon and perfect conditions for football. They played three 10 minute matches and came firing out of the blocks in the first match winning 5-0! They were absolutely fantastic and their attacking play was sublime at times, scoring some incredible goals! The second match was 1-1 and the third was 2-0 to Copthill.
The match was great preparation for the upcoming ISA football tournament and whilst they will no doubt come up against much stronger competition, if they can play with the intensity of the first match against Ayscoughfee, then they could do very well!
