A combined team of Year 5 and Year 6 children took to the field on Wednesday afternoon to play two matches against our nearest neighbours.
The skills progression was clear to see, even over the few weeks since we last played a match. Some accurate and at times speedy bowling by Copthill kept the pressure on the batting side, and was always backed up by quick thinking in the field and some sharp catches, epitomised by Hermione collecting 3 wickets in an over! Having restricted the score, our batters grew in confidence, with a great contribution by Edward opening the innings, followed by power hitting by Penelope, and finishing with numerous fast singles by Felicity and Annabel to see Copthill home. Both games were played in excellent spirit of sportsmanship and friendship. We look forward to plenty more afternoons like this. Well played all!
