It was wonderful to see the excitement of the Year 4 girls today as they walked out to their first ever fixture for Copthill. Beaming smiles and smart tracksuits; they were ready to go!
Considering they have only had two Cricket lessons, their bowling, batting and fielding was wonderful. We had girls who delivered 8 from 8 good balls in their extended over which is superb at this early stage in the season.
We even had a small number of wickets taken and 6s hit. It really was an exciting first outing for the girls. I look forward to watching their skills develop as we look ahead to hosting Witham and then Stamford in the coming weeks and months.
