The aim of The Copthill Challenge Scheme is to recognise all the skills and interests of pupils, not just academic, sporting or musical achievements.

We motivate pupils to try new challenges and to develop practical skills which are not part of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to think about others and to offer help by providing a service in and out of school, and most importantly, they are taught the lifelong skills of leadership and teamwork.

Completely voluntary and pupil initiated, each year the requirements become more challenging. Over the three years, pupils can achieve a Bronze, Silver or Gold award, depending on their enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment.

Some challenges are achievable in school time, others are designed to be completed out of school hours, with parental support. The scheme is taken very seriously by pupils, and encompasses many important skills which will be required for secondary school and adult life.
