3rd Nationally!

After the event being cancelled due to the snow back in March it was finally time to take to the National stage and see how we could fair against the best in the country!

We had the three time National Champions in our pool and it made for a tough first game of the day. The girls played their socks off and lost 13-4. From here on in the girls grew into their netball and took some convincing wins scoring 61 goals across their 5 pool games whilst only conceding 20 (13 of those were Bowden Prep!).

In the Quarter Final we met Lady Barn House who we beat them 11-8. We progressed to the Semi Finals and met Alderney Edge School for Girls. It was tight but we tired in the second half and they took the 12-8 win. This put us in the 3/4 playoffs against Alleyn Court, our old rivals who we met in the Regional Finals. This was playing for a medal or going home empty handed and the girls really stepped up!

I was insanely proud of the girls and it was a wonderful end to a long journey. A hardworking group with very supportive parents made all this possible.

I am extremely grateful to Witham, Stamford High, Oakham and Trent College for allowing us to play their Yr7 girls in our building up to ensure the girls found some challenge.

The girls are the second Copthill team to ever make a National Final, so to come away in 3rd place Nationally is an amazing achievement. The Regional rounds saw around 100 schools enter so the girls should be immensely proud of their bronze medal position.
