A Fleet of Copthill Pirate Ships!

You have all taken on the challenge of the Copthill Independent Homework project in your stride and we have seen some incredibleeeee pirate ships coming into school. Some very creative ideas, cakes, Lego, wooden, metal just to name a few!! We are loving them! You should be super proud of your efforts, well done.

In maths we have continued to focus on number, consolidating our knowledge of odd and even numbers and later in the week we moved on to addition and subtraction, making sure that we do careful counting – using our noses is a really useful way of ensuring careful counting.

2D enjoyed a lesson on floating and sinking for their creative curriculum lesson this week:

2G thoroughly enjoyed their forest school lesson making pirate maps with Mrs Bell:

We ended the week with an investigation. The children worked in groups to design and build rafts making sure they thought about the materials they would need to ensure that their raft would float. It was a lot of fun, especially testing them out on water and adding weight to their rafts to see if they would continue to float!
