Africa, The Big Five, and Spectacles!

We have been continuing with our Africa topic in Year 4, and the children have been researching different aspects of their chosen Big Five animal.

They have been drafting non-chronological reports this week about their animal, so watch this space for some finished results next week!

In relation to our Africa topic, Year 4 have chosen to support the charity Specs for Africa. Anne and Peter Corder set up the charity after holidays in Africa, once they realised there were accessibility issues to eye care in some countries in Africa. Over the past few years, they have been able to supply thousands of specs to people in Africa, who otherwise would have struggled with their vision. More information on the charity was sent out in the bulletin. There is a box for donations by the office, so any spare or unused reading glasses or sunglasses would be greatly appreciated!
