Great play by all the girls at Leicester grammar today. Mrs Hesford’s Red and Blue team showed excellent fluidity down the court with some great attacking teamwork and communication. Some super interceptions too and it was great to see the girls strengths playing in the different positions as they rotated. An excellent 10-4 win for the As and narrow 6-4 defeat for the Bs. Congratulations Nilaiya and Lucie, who were voted players of the match by the opposition.
Mrs Underwood’s yellow team played with determination to beat their LGS opposition 6-9. Some sharp shooting from the girls, coupled with some tight defending and some fantastic passing earned them the well deserved win. LGS voted Romily, with some incredible interceptions as POM.
Mrs Underwood’s red team played enthusiastically and were unfortunate to lose 7-9. There was some fantastic feeding of the ball down the court and improved use of support players around the edge of the D. LGS voted Eleanor as POM, no doubt for her movement into space and accurate shooting.
Mrs Alcoran’s Green team made a strong start and dominated throughout. They worked hard on passing at the right time and encouraged balancing the court and changing channels. I left the game at the end of the third quarter with the girls winning 11-4. Players’ player was Arabella.
The yellow team had some fierce opposition and positional rotations played a big factor for both teams in different quarters. We struggled at times with not driving towards the ball, allowing for interceptions but we worked on this across the game. Final score was 5-9. Players’ player was voted Reese after a wonderful final quarter with multiple interceptions.
