And there it was!

Just like that the holiday came and went and so did the sunshine!! We have had a wonderful break – for some it was on the slopes, others up the hills and some by a pool. Wherever it was, it feels lovely to be back together for our last term! We have had a great time learning about Great Britain for our new topic ‘Out and About’. The children could locate the countries and counties that are a part of it and have really enjoyed finding the cities within the counties and locating their county. Locating one pupil’s home within his village on his map was however a little bit trickier…

When the sun was shining, Georgia O’Keefe’s work provided some inspiration for our fabulous sunflower pictures. Looking carefully at the different colours and detail within the flower we used oil pastels and a lovely fresh blue wash to complete each composition.

Flowers are part of the theme in our Outdoor Learning this half term. This week we have been looking at the importance of air, light, soil, space and sun to gain the best results for new growth.
