At last… the sleepover has arrived!

What a week of containing an excited Year Group who were all looking forward to their sleepover in their classrooms on Friday night. The children had a wonderful time making the most of having the school building and grounds all to themselves. They played outside until dinner was ready, then set up their roll mats and sleeping bags and as it got a little darker outside we played Sardines by finding a brilliant hiding place in the Library for other groups to find. Once in their pyjamas, they were in their beds – for most of the time! A few words of encouragement from the teachers and they were soon off to sleep way before midnight! The next morning housekeeping skills were utilised by ensuring that all the rooms were tidy and ready for Monday morning after having a wide selection from the breakfast buffet! Here are some photos of the event!

Telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes is a tricky skill to learn but here we are teaching each other by matching up the clocks to the correct time. What super collaborative work!

We have also been busy with our ‘Out and About’ topic as we have been locating key places in the UK and identifying the seas that surround us. It was a great chance to develop our mapping and geographical skills.

During Forest School this week the children were identifying parts of a flower and made some beautiful flower plates by pressing flowers into clay. How lovely on such a gloriously sunny day!
