This week we went for some autumnal walks to collect lots of coloured leaves. The children had fun watching and waiting for the leaves to fall from the trees when the wind blew, ready to catch them – this was great fun! Once back in the setting, the children were invited to choose a leaf from the huge collection and make a puppet by peeling off some sticky backed eyes and placing them onto the leaf. The children were then encouraged to add facial features with a pen and describe whether their leaf puppet was happy or sad when they added the mouth to the leaf. Afterwards, the children were able to play creatively with their puppets with their friends.
