Year 1 Visited Burghley House on Monday. We had such a lovely time. Our first activity was a tour around the house. The children particularly liked spotting all the secret doors! Life was very different back in the Victorian times and we felt the part in our costumes! After a lovely break in the grounds we returned for some hard labour – polishing shoes, setting the table, folding the linen! We learned about Victorian hobbies including making scrapbooks. After lunch we investigated different objects from the past and played traditional parlour games. It was such a lovely day – enjoyed by all.
