Girls Cricket makes a flying start

We have had a Cricket filled first week of the summer term with all Year 3 to Year 6 children working on their bowling, batting and fielding.

We have been lucky enough to secure Pete Morgan to join us for multiple sessions across the week, he will be working with the girls primarily as we build up knowledge and exposure to the sport. I have been so proud of how the girls have thrown themselves into a new sport and are already practicing at home and are keen to hear about local external clubs.

In our first week the girls undertook a carousel of activities in the lessons, each led by a member of staff; overarm bowling, the front foot drive and throwing and catching over varying distances.

The photos show our wonderful Year 3 girls. Their level of skill and early progress makes me feel very excited about what the future of girls Cricket might look like at Copthill!
