Greek for a day!

Year 3 had a most wonderful experience dressed as Greeks! There were a couple of Medussas, Aphradites, Athenas, Heras, Artemis, Hades, Apollo, Zeus, Apollo and many other Greek Gods and Goddesses.

We met our leader – Archon who gave us some very strict instructions that in Athens all work had to be EXCELLENT! I think you will agree that it really was! We carved soap, made wax tablets, painted frescos, made clay lucky charm bracelets, mosaics, ink designs on tiles and clay pots! A very productive morning was had by all!

After a Greek-themed lunch, we then rehearsed and later performed plays – it was customary to toast the performances beforehand with wine (squash in our case!). Once our fantastic plays had been performed, we tasted some Greek snacks before heading back to our classrooms to admire all our creations! It truly was a fabulous day!

We have been thinking about what the Ancient Greeks would have eaten in Forest School this week. As you can see, we have had a wonderful time finding out, making and tasting it too!

Last week we continued with our sinking and floating experiments, this time at the dam – here are 3T finding out a little more about it using a variety of materials:
