Term Dates / Calendar

IT’s (almost) CHRRRIIISSSTMAASSSSS

What a way to end the week – Friday, chippy Friday, swimming, 1st December = Christmas decorations and Christmas songs AND the start of the advent calendars and Elf on the shelf. Talk about a busy, exciting day!

This week we have also been lucky enough to start on our Christmas decorations in forest school. We carefully used tools to create natural Christmas trees and made a start on our festive gonks.

Inside we have been learning all about Bethany Hamilton as part of our Zero-to-Hero topic. We found her story really interesting and can’t quite believe how amazing her journey has been. We wrote detailed fact files about her life and in art we have created some amazing water themed art work which we are super proud to have up on display in the Year 2 corridors. We were learning all about mixing colours to create different shades of blues.

In maths we have been consolidating our learning of 3D shape, reminding ourselves of the key vocab needed to describe them compared to 2D. We have also been looking at lines of symmetry in shape.

We have continued with our practise of guided reading and are really enjoying sharing our opinions and asking questions about the books we are reading with our friends and discussing the stories.
