The inaugural event took place on Oakham’s 1st XI cricket field and ‘Welsh Fire’ superstar Fi Morris was the lead coach for the afternoon’s activities. We were lucky to be one of three schools who were invited and we took along 11 Year 5&6 girls to experience the event.
The girls were all put into coloured t-shirts and then moved into mixed school teams. They then enjoyed a rotation of 6 different cricket activities working on bowling, catching, hitting and other key skills.
The event was rounded off with a wonderful question and answer session where Fi told the girls about how she got into cricket and what she enjoys most about turning pro. A yummy giant hotdog to conclude a super day of cricket in the sunshine and to round off the Cricket season for Copthill.
