This week we have been very busy using shapes to make pictures and using lolly pop sticks to make shapes! To begin with the children were given three sticks and encouraged to make a triangle. They were then given four sticks and challenged to make a square. Finally they were given six sticks and asked to make a rectangle, which was rather tricky, but lots of children managed to do it. The children were then invited to try and make a house using the sticks, and there were some template cards to help them. The children loved trying to replicate the pictures and were very proud when they did. Finally the children were able to create anything they wanted to and the carpet was covered with lots of lovely creations as the children came up with their own wonderful ideas.
