Term Dates / Calendar

This way, that way, forwards and backwards – feeling dizzy!

We might be counting down the days to the holidays, but the work is still going strong in Year 2 and the children are still putting in their best effort which is amazing to see. In English this week we have been looking at different types of poetry. Reading limericks and haiku’s all about animals and getting the children to work out what the theme of an acrostic poem was being read to them – they really enjoyed that. They then went on to create their own acrostic poems, some about animals and some about the Summer.

In maths we have continued with our learning of position and direction. Miss Gardner’s group worked in pairs to find the pirates missing items, using the directions to guide themselves around the map. Everyone worked really well in their pairs!

In forest school we went out and made jewellery from natural materials and in art we looked forward – literally – to our summer holidays, filling sunglasses with our summer vision (plans).

As we head into the last week of term, please can we remind you that Monday is the deadline for any remaining completed Copthill Challenge Scheme books to be handed in (the coding and ICT tasks can be completed at school, so if these are the only two you have left to complete, we can do that in school, so bring them in on Monday).
