Some of the Y5&6 boys and girls represented the Copthill A hardball team away against Laxton School.
They were privileged to play on a wicket at Oundle Sports Complex which is an exciting prospect in itself with a lovely wicket to bat and bowl on!
Copthill decided to field first and started to bowl. They bowled well with good line and length and accuracy. Laxton scored a total of 121 for a loss of 5 wickets.
Copthill then came into bat, which didn’t start too well with the first pair scoring 10 but losing 3 wickets! The batting gradually improved as the pairs came in and the final 2 pairs put on a good show, who were Isla & Sophie and Luke & Oliver. The end of the innings saw Copthill reach a total of 79 for 8 wickets.
Therefore, the winning side was Laxton. Copthill still need to work hard on committing themselves to batting shots in order to score more runs!
