Some of the boys from year 5&6 represented Copthill at the Oakham hockey festival on Wednesday 13th March.
They played 4 matches in total that were all very closely contested. They started off playing against Stamford and narrowly lost 2-1. They then played against Maidwell, drawing 1-1 in a game they dominated and Maidwell scoring in the last minute of the game. They then played Winchester House and despite taking the lead, and again, dominating for most of the match, they managed to get 2 goals in the final 3 minutes! We then came up against the hosts, Oakham, drawing 1-1.
The boys travel to Gresham’s for their final fixture of the term on Tuesday 19th March.
