A group of Year 5&6 boys travelled to London on Tuesday 7th February to represent Copthill at the U11 ISA National Hockey Finals.
They were drawn into a pretty tough group which they lost 3 and drew 1, meaning they finished 4th in the group and progressed through to a knockout stage in the afternoon. They came up against Oakfield in the first match of the afternoon and lost 1-0. They then played against Ipswich High and lost again, narrowly, 1-0.
The boys fought hard throughout the day and unfortunately just couldn’t score. Even though they lost most of their matches, their biggest defeat was only 2-0 and they all thoroughly enjoyed the day. It was a great experience for them all and to witness some very good hockey teams.
Well done to all the boys who took part, both Mr Teesdale and myself were proud of how they conducted themselves throughout the day and kept trying hard.
