Some of the Year 5 children travelled to Oundle School to play in a hardball cricket fixture against Laxton JS.
The match was played on a beautiful wicket and our children took full advantage of that. They lost the toss and were put into bat first, scoring a credible 81 runs off 20 overs and losing 6 wickets.
Laxton then went into bat and also scored well but Copthill took more wickets and because 5 runs for each wicket that was taken is awarded to the side that took them meant that Copthill narrowly won by 6 runs!
A great game of cricket and afternoon for all of the children involved, well done.
